"Just can't wait for the Plain Air Convention! What an incredible group of some of the most spectacular masters in this crucially important for our realist movement field!

Plain Air experience is uniquely important for a development of Realist Art and to my personal overall artistic process, particularly to my studio figurative work. I consider experienced gained through continuous plain air painting being the backbone of my understanding of nature and the foundation of my artistic training. This is how my father, a Great Russian artist of Soviet Era Leonid Steele, began my formal lessons at age six. I always look at the great outdoors as my constant laboratory to study basic principles of our art form - compositional harmony of forms and shapes, the relation of values and colors in all their infinite variations as they defined by real-life light and space. Plain Air is always a great testing ground for my various visual and technical ideas. "
